Bill drew his Kegbuster strip in Whats Brewing for a remarkable 43 years. Even more astounding is that Bill continued to produce his monthly strip despite having two strokes in 2017 and 2019. Sadly the second stroke damaged his hand on slightly but enough to take away his ability to produce the standard of work he wanted to produce
Bill was a genuine real ale fan and he made sure Kegbuster was a flat cap wearing ‘Real Ale’ superhero who was intent on battling the big brewers. Kegbuster’s favourite ale was Crudgies from the Crudgington Brewery which would later appear in Bill’s The Crudgingtons cartoon strip in Eddie Shah’s newpaper Today 1986-1987
