When Eddie Shah launched the Today newpaper in 1986 he asked Bill to launch a new cartoon strip on day one. It was about a family run brewery in Badchester and its famous, much soughtafter 6X beer. The children of Sam Crudgington were to inherit the brewery but like the baddy Roger Ditchely in the Fosdyke Saga, one son Nigel Crudgington was planning to sell the business to a rival brewery. Bill wrapped up the strip when Eddie sold Today to Tiny Rowland’s conglomerate Lonrho in 1987.
